Writing Prompts: Neurotic Moms

Okay, so everyone thinks their mom is a little bit crazy. Especially when she goes outside in her housecoat and rollers to get the morning newspaper or shows your boyfriend naked baby pictures of you taking a bath.

So today, we are going to salute mom and her crazy ways with five writing prompts that blow those personality quirks way out of proportion.

1. Write a story about the moment an obsessive compulsive, germophobic mom realizes her mental problems are hurting her children.

2. Write about a mom who decides to murder her son’s fiance because she’s not good enough for him.

3. Write about a work at home mom whose penchant for spying on the neighbors gets her in serious trouble.

4. Write about how mom’s obsession with new age ideas and practices saves her husband’s business.

5. Write about a woman who is the perfect stay at home mom during the day but sneaks out to participate in dangerous motorcycle races at night.
