The Plot Cafe is going on a temporary hiatus as I will be devoting my time to building another project that will allow me to quit my day job and thus spend more time building the website to the premium place for readers and writers that it should be. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Anyone who has contacted me regarding having an interview done before May 1, I will still do the interview probably some time this week.

Writing Prompts: In the Beginning

The new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, released over the weekend and everybody is raving over the late Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker. There is even talk of an Oscar nod for Ledger because of his unique portrayal of one of Batman’s nefarious foes.

Superheros and Supervillains do not just spring out of no where. They have a past that often begins with them being ordinary people until something extraordinary happens to them. I like this new series of Batman movies because we get to see that process unfold in the life of Bruce Wayne. This week’s theme for the writing prompts will center around Heroes and Villains and today we are going to explore some possible situations in which these heroes and villains are born.

1. Write about someone who wakes up one day with superpowers.

2. Write about a childhood bully and his victim who later become each other’s super nemesis.

3. Write about a stay at home mom who gains superhero powers while saving her child from iminent danger.

4. Write about a klutz who becomes a super villain because of a mishap.

5. Write about an animal (your choice) who chases after the dream of being a superhero in the animal kingdom.
