Whether hidden or obvious, fear is apart of our existence here on this planet. Sometimes, such as in times of danger, it serves us by spurring us into action. Other times, such as in the case of phobias, it cripples us. How we deal with our fear is what defines us.

Some try to ignore their fears, which only serves to make them worse, while others put on their big kid underwear and deal with them. In the same way, how your characters deal with their fears says a lot about them. Here are five phobias that you can inflict upon your character and see how they fare.

1. Ablutophobia – Fear of washing or bathing.

2. Apeirophobia – Fear of infinity

3. Barophobia – Fear of Gravity

4. Decidophobia – Fear of making decisions

5. Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia – Fear of long words

Okay I chose some pretty crazy ones. For more interesting phobias to torture your characters with visit The Phobia List.
