Writing Prompts: Failed Attempts at Independence

Comments Off

Let’s face it, we have all experienced failure at one time or another in our lives. In fact, I would say that the ratio between failure and success is something like 100:1. Okay maybe not that extreme but you get the picture.

But failure is nothing to be feared or ashamed of. The lessons we learn from failure are often what helps us succeed in our next endeavor. So today, our characters are going to fall flat on their face and fail to acheive the independence they desperately seek. Use these writing prompts, and characters, to teach an unforgettable lesson.

1. Write about someone attempting to go without their medication.

2. Write about someone trying to break away from their Mafia family.

3. Write about an attempt to escape a black hole that doesn’t quite work out.

4. Write about a failed prison escape.

5. Write about someone who is forced to move back in with their parents.
