Writing Prompts: Declaration of Independence

This coming Friday, July 4, we Americans will celebrate Independence Day, the day in which we said “Peace Out” to England and declared our independence from them.

Everyday both individuals and nations seperate from their parent entities. Sometimes it’s a happy occasion and other times not so much. This week the theme for writing prompts will focus on independence and all that entails.

1. Write about an only child leaving home for college.

2. Write about an employee quitting their job and starting their own business.

3. Write about a small village breaking away from the larger country.

4. Write about someone leaving a long term relationship and starting over.

5. Write about someone freeing themselves from the tyranny of high gas prices.
