Writing Prompts: Children’s Day

Comments Off

When I sat down to update the editorial schedule for the writing prompts, I decided that this week we would focus on children because I thought that Children’s Day was celebrated this week. Turns out I was mistaken and Children’s Day was actually celebrated in early June. But since we are on the subject anyway, I figured why not give the kiddies a week of writing prompts dedicated to them as a belated Children’s day present.

1. Write about a child’s first step from the perspective of the child.

2. Write about a tween’s attempt to hook her mother up with the neighbor.

3. Write about a child’s first experience with racial bias.

4. Write about a child genius learning to connect with “normal” kids.

5. Write about an alien child who runs away from their home planet to Earth.
